College Recruiting Conversation at Rough and Tumble Pub
College recruiting can be an exciting chapter for young athletes—and also confusing, emotional, and high-pressure. Especially for young women and non-binary athletes. Most teens are figuring it out without a guide, especially one who understands the #womenssports sector. We’re fixing that. We’re bringing together experts and hosting a real, honest convo and talk about what this process *really* feels like—and how to stay grounded, confident, and true to yourself all the way through.
Join @ncaasoccer coach and @reignfc GM Lesle Gallimore @lesleg, current @reignfc player and former D1 @uw_wsoccer and now @nwsl athlete Shae Holmes @_shaeholmes11, and mental health and coaching experts Christy and Doug Sweaney Herrick – former athletes, current coaches and mental health therapists from @the_whole_athlete
For young athletes of all genders, parents, coaches, and anyone supporting them. Let’s do this together!
This event is free and does not require registration.

Parenting support: Helping your child manage the psychological challenges of college recruiting
This webinar is designed to help parents better understand and respond to the unique mental and emotional challenges that come with their child’s college athletics recruiting process. This process puts high schoolers in the vulnerable position of being evaluated by coaches who have the power to say “yes” or “no” to an athlete’s imagined future. Since many talented athletes have found ways to be successful and take charge of their own sports career, this experience can bring up anxiety, shame, disappointment and insecurity. The purpose of the webinar is to help you support your child through the process in a way that builds their self worth, resilience and to stay connected to what really matters to them in their college decision.
Join me for a conversation of the pressures your child may be facing and ideas for ways that you can support them in this exciting and challenging process.
